Qrio (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a daily explainer app that helps you get smarter every day. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Qrio you agree to this policy.
Information we collect
We collect only what we need to run the app:
Account information — when you sign up, we collect either your mobile phone number (phone sign-in) or your email address (Google sign-in), and the first name you provide.
Onboarding preferences — the topics and content sources you select during sign-up.
Activity in the app — which topics you read, opinions you post, likes, and feedback (thumbs up/down) you give on topics.
Notification token — a device push-notification token, so we can send you the daily topic alert (only if you allow notifications).
Usage analytics — anonymous, aggregated app-usage events (screens viewed, buttons tapped, time in app) and basic device/app information, used to understand and improve the product.
We do not collect your contacts, photos, precise location, or any sensitive personal data.
How we use your information
To create and secure your account and sign you in.
To deliver daily content and remember what you’ve read.
To send push notifications about new content (only with your permission).
To show and attribute the opinions you post.
To understand usage and improve the app.
Service providers
We use trusted third-party services to operate Qrio. Your data may be processed by:
Google Firebase — authentication (phone & Google sign-in) and push notifications. Firebase Privacy

We do not sell your personal information to anyone.
Data retention and deletion
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time:
In the app, open Profile → Delete account. This permanently removes your profile, preferences, reads, opinions, likes, and feedback, and deletes your sign-in account.
Push notifications are optional. You can turn them off any time from your device settings or the in-app Profile screen.
Children
Qrio is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Security
We use industry-standard measures (encrypted connections, access controls) to protect your information. No method of transmission is 100% secure, but we work hard to keep your data safe.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We’ll revise the “Last updated” date above when we do.
